How to install LibreOffice 5.2.1 released with new features

    LibreOffice 5.2.1 is the second bugfix release of the 5.2.x branch of LibreOffice which contains new features and program enhancements. As such, the version is stable and is suitable for all users. LibreOffice 5.2.1 version may contain a few annoying bugs which will be fixed in the next bugfix versions to come.

Installation instructions:

Open terminal and insert command line...

$ sudo apt-get remove --purge libreoffice*

$ sudo add-apt-repository ppa:libreoffice/ppa

$ sudo apt-get update

$ sudo apt-get install libreoffice

Install via package if PPA is not up to date

32bit OS

$ wget http://download.documentfoundation.org/libreoffice/stable/5.2.1/deb/x86/LibreOffice_5.2.1_Linux_x86_deb.tar.gz

$ tar -xvf LibreOffice_5.2.1_Linux_x86_deb.tar.gz

$ cd LibreOffice_5.2.1.2_Linux_x86_deb/DEBS/

$ sudo dpkg -i *.deb

64bit OS

$ wget http://download.documentfoundation.org/libreoffice/stable/5.2.1/deb/x86_64/LibreOffice_5.2.1_Linux_x86-64_deb.tar.gz

$ tar -xvf LibreOffice_5.2.1_Linux_x86-64_deb.tar.gz

$ cd LibreOffice_5.2.1.2_Linux_x86-64_deb/DEBS/

$ sudo dpkg -i *.deb
